Aku Aku
Aku Aku is a witch doctor spirit from the Crash Bandicoot series. In the Playstation 1 games he was alway depicted as a floating mask, sometimes in the vortex. He would guide Crash (and later Coco) through the games, giving them advice, and would give the ‘invincibility’ for a short time as well.
This was an early piece and one of Matt’s favourites. The bold colours for Aku’s feathers with a wavy design was fun to connect together. We don’t get attached to many sheets of glass but the wooden effect glass we used for the mask was perfect for any wooden structures so we tried to buy as much as we could find when we saw it. Alas I think it's no longer made. Finally I loved the shiny film that made the warp tunnels found in the various Crash Bandicoot games, the glass would only show it when the light shined on it from an angle.
